The first outdoor event of the Citi Business Festival, The Footprint, comes off today (Thursday) at the Ghana Telecom University College.

The event is a platform designed to engage tertiary students as they prepare for the corporate world.

This year’s edition focuses on Technology and it is on the topic, “Technology Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century”.
At the event, key persons in the technology industry will share their first hand experience and insights to tertiary students in an interactive way.

Participants will also be provided with current and changing trends in the technology industry. Know more about the personalities at The Footprint.

Ethel Coffie is a Tech entrepreneur with extensive experience in Europe and Africa. She is the CEO of Edel Technologies.

A Mandela Fellow for President Obama’s Young African Leaders initiative, she was recently featured in BBC and CNN for her work.

She has international experience working on a variety of projects including the Bill and Melinda Gates Mobile Technology for Health project, the Ford Foundation’s Election Monitoring project for Nigeria, and was head of Commercial Solutions at Vodafone.

She is the founder of Women in Tech Ghana, initiator of the 1st Pan African woman in tech meet-up and was shortlisted for the UN GEM Tech Award for her work supporting women in ICT.

Her latest project is an Accelerator AfricaTwenty10 for startups launching in multiple African markets.

Fiifi Baidoo, co-founder and CTO of iSpace Foundation.

Fiifi is interested in making an impact with his acquired skills and knowledge to communities for social good.

In 2011, he organized The Mobile Apps Ghana Showcase (#MAGS2011) together with his business partner (Josiah Kwesi Eyison) which was the first of its kind in the country and West Africa.

The showcase was organized because of the passion they both have about promoting innovations as well as educating the greater public on some of the mobile services in the market.

He until recently was a Program Coordinator at Google where he helped educational institutions deploy, adapt and integrate Google Apps into their IT infrastructure to enhance collaboration, communication and learning in the school community.

Alex Adjei Bram, General Manager of SMSGH.

His dedication and professional sense of duty has helped grow SMSGH into a world-class messaging company, and maintain its local leadership position in the mobile messaging, aggregation and applications space.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and has vast experience in business and project management as well as in mobility application deployments.

Under his supervision, SMSGH processes more than 4 million messages for over 5,000 corporates clients serving more 10 million mobile subscribers and application dependants/users.

Abdul-Latif Issahaku is the Data and devices manager at MTN Ghana. He is also is the founding curator of the Global Shapers Tamale Hub.

He is a passionate marketing executive leading brands to drive products and services innovation.
He is fascinated about innovations in the technology space and has consistently launched and applied mobile technology solutions that address everyday problems.

Since 2006, Abdul-Latif has worked for two multinational telecom companies; the Chinese giant Huawei Technologies as well as MTN, Africa’s leading telecom operator.
In 2013, he launched the MTN Apps Challenge which provides opportunity for Ghanaian youth to use technology to solve the litany of problems in Ghana.

Profile of Anthony Angmor

Anthony Angmor, Lecturer and engineering technologist with over 13 years in the Information technology industry.
Mr. Angmor holds BSc & MSc in Information technology from the Moscow State Technical University and other certificates from specific technology schools.

He’s had the opportunity to serve in different countries with different assignments including design and implementation of management solutions for universities, ICT Helpdesk for expat and diplomatic communities, communication and access technology for financial institutions, management of regional software implementation, trainers training for national solution implementation, multimedia communication system for institutions, etc.

His research interests include Heterogeneous networks optimization in data communication, emerging architecture in network security and cost effective techniques in cloud computing adoption.
