The secretary general of the ruling MPLA party's women wing (OMA), Luzia Inglês Van-Dúnem Inga, Friday in Luanda reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to defend the rights of women and increase their participation in decision making organs.

The OMA official was speaking at the ceremony of new year greeting, stressing that her organisation wants to ensure a greater participation of women in political, economic and social life of the country.

"We will continue working to increase the number of women in decision making organs, said Luzia Inglês, who recognised the need to continue upgrading women in order to improve their performance in the country's development.

Speaking on the activities undertaken by the organisation in 2012, Luzia Inglês recalled the success of the campaign of OMA's growth," in which the militants increased from 2. 2 million to 2.6 million.

In the International context, she added, OMA also scored victories with the  rise to the post of one of the vice chairs of the Women's International Democratic Federation in April in Brazil.

She also spoke of its participation in the XXI Congress of the International Federation of Women in Legal Careers, held in Dakar, Senegal.

The event brought together national committee members of OMA, MPs of MPLA bench, workers of nationals headquarters of the organisation.
