The FCT women wing of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) at the weekend inaugurated its executive comprising of 10 members to run the council's affairs in the territory.

Speaking during the inauguration at First Baptist Church Abuja, FCT Chairman of CCN, Arch Bishop Chimaroke Iweha charged the newly inaugurated members to be united while discharging services to the women body of the council.

Those inaugurated were Arc (Mrs) Victoria Onu, president; Mrs. Ngozi Izuogu, vice-president; Mrs. Nkese Sonny, public relations officer; Deaconess Chinyere Eke Okoro, secretary; Obieza Edna, treasurer; Mrs F. Olugbami, financial secretary; Deaconess Dorcas Umoffia, prayer co-ordinator; Mrs Yemisi Peters, welfare officer; Mrs Uchendu Uchenna, president AMAC and Iboro Ime Uko, secretary AMAC.

In her address, the women leader, Arc (Mrs) Victoria Onu, said the council under her administration will establish co-operatives and skills acquisition centres that will empower women to become economically and socially independent.

She said the council aims at bringing women into a fold for spiritual growth, evangelism, economic empowerment, education as well as to sensitize them on global and topical issues.

On her part, the women's Public Relations Officer, Mrs Nkese Sonny, urged women to be obedient to their husbands.
