She also said that it is visible the Angolan government's efforts in creating spaces with a view to inclusion of women in society, taking over decision-making and leadership positions, in order to participate in public life and politics of the country.

Maria Filomena Delgado informed that by 2002 the female gender had little participation in the public life, there is now a massive presence in the state organs, such as in the National Assembly, provincial governments, municipal and communal administrations, national and provincial departments, among others.

"The gains are incalculable and will continue to do the same actions, especially for the rural women, in compliance with the recommendations from the Consultation Forum held last year", she said.

According to her, the main challenge of the ministry is the economic empowerment of women at both urban and rural area, ensuring that it is in the pipeline the National Development Plan of Families and the Programme of Support for Rural Women, as well as other social actions will be developed in the long term.
